Christian Guzman Received Cease and Desist From Washington State University over matching logo claims

Alphalete are getting creative behind the scenes to come up with a new logo after discussions with Krissy Cela where it was pointed out that the current logo is strikingly similar to her Oner Active icon. But did you know that this isn’t the first time that Guzman’s had to change the logo?

On the popular podcast ‘Don’t Be Sour’ Guzman, rather reluctantly, revealed that back in 2015/2016 the brand received a cease and desist notice from Washington State University requesting that they stop the use of their wolf logo.

It seems that the graphic designer Guzman hired ripped the shape and style of the logo from Washington State University’s basketball team, but they weren’t aware of the issue until the cease and desist notice came through.

The similarity might not have been too much of an issue apart from the fact that the logo was for the University’s basketball team, and they sell athletic clothing with the logo on.

So it was back to the drawing board for Alphalete after pulling the wolf logo in 2017. And now they’re back there again, hopefully to find a logo that will stick this time.
