The Liver King has admitted to making more than $100m per year by selling health supplements. Often seen wearing little other than a pair of shorts, the bearded hulk may not look as if he enjoys the finer things in life, but he can certainly afford them.

If you don’t even know who I’m talking about, where have you been? The Liver King, or Brian Johnson as he is otherwise known, joined social media in 2021 to teach the ‘9 tenets of ancestral living’.
Boosted by a mention on Joe Rogan’s podcast, he has since amassed a whopping 1.6m followers on Instagram, with fans often tuning in to watch him tuck into a plate of various raw offal – including liver, of course, The self-labelled CEO of ancestral living is all about harnessing the power of the outdoors and posts various viral clips of him carrying out blood-boiling workouts which he likens to the daily tasks and struggles of our forefathers. But, of course, with fame comes money. And as much as he parrots a lifestyle stripped of luxury and all our modern-day comforts, critics often question whether he practises what he preaches when the cameras are turned off – especially given his sizable bank balance.
Delving into his finances a little deeper on the Diary of a CEO podcast, host Steven Bartlett, said: “People don’t talk about your business portfolio or success as much as they talk about other things. Earlier on in the conversation, you said that you were rich before you joined social media and became ‘Liver King’. What was that business?” In response, the typically shirtless Liver King replied: “I own 10 or 12 companies right now. They’re all ancestral related. We do also have some real estate stuff from back in the day. But some of the companies are dietary supplement companies, like Ancestral Supplements, Strong Jaw, The Fittest and Heart & Soil – there’s a whole bunch of them. I want to have 100 of these, in every different category.”
He added: “I always say that an evolutionary hunter leaves the comfort of his cave to do something different for the betterment of humanity. So, all my companies are based on getting out this ancestral message into the mainstream. A lot of my companies are dietary supplement companies and I’m involved also with the supply chain upstream and downstream.”
Probing a little deeper, Steven cheekily said: “A little birdy told me these companies are doing very well.”
“They are,” Liver King admitted. “They’re doing great and I can’t take credit because I’m not the CEO of any of these companies anymore. I moved over to CEO of the ancestral lifestyle.”
Reports posted online suggested Liver King was making an annual turnover north of $100m, undoubtedly aided by his ever-growing profile. One again putting him under the spotlight, Steven said: “When I said businesses are doing well, I meant really, really well. I read online that you’re making over $100m a year from your companies – true or false?”
“True,” the 45-year-old American powerhouse replied. When asked how much that money impacted his lifestyle, he added: “Not much, we have Liver King Ranch, plenty of acreages and all our food out there.”
He continued: “I would say money just amplifies who you are. If you were an a**hole before you have money, once you get it you’re going to be more of an a**hole. If you’re a generous person, it amplifies your ability to be generous…It hasn’t really changed a whole lot other than creating a vehicle to go and deepen the experiences with my family.”
