‘Tis the season to be jolly, and that usually means lots of unnecessary calories will find their way past our lips. The shops, restaurants, and bakeries putting on their festive spreads can make it almost impossible to resist bingeing on something naughty.
Even a nice warming drink like a spiced pumpkin latte or hot chocolate can provide a shocking amount of redundant sugar and fat.
But what if I told you that you could still enjoy a nice cuppa that not only curbs sugar and hunger cravings but also detoxifies and brightens your skin?
Pique Life Sun Goddess Matcha
PIQUE’s Sun Goddess Matcha Green Tea does all the above and more. So, let’s see what all the fuss is about.

What is Pique Life Sun Goddess Matcha?
Sun Goddess Matcha is organic, ceremonial-grade matcha made by third-generation tea masters, using 130-year-old techniques.
The matcha is sourced from Kagoshima, situated in a lush valley at the southernmost tip of the Japanese archipelago – the furthest distance from environmental toxins – the source of this matcha is unrivaled in purity.
PIQUE’s tea farm is high in the mountains where cooler temperatures are a natural insect repellent. Legend has it that the SUN GODDESS Amaterasu appeared at a volcano within sight of our tea gardens and blessed the land with pure light.
I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling more zen already.
But what does this all mean? PIQUE’s matcha trees are cultivated with 35% longer shading periods to maximize phytonutrient potential. It is also Quadruple Toxin-Screened for pesticides, heavy metals, toxic mold, and radioactive isotopes, so you know exactly what you’re putting into your body.
An elixir of youth for your skin, body, and mind, this formula contains everything you need for the perfect natural pick-me-up. EGCG firms and brightens skin, while chlorophyll clarifies.
The combination of caffeine and catechins supports lipid metabolism and helps curb cravings. Finally, l-theanine promotes calm and balance.
Does it walk the walk (the review)
You can have this matcha either hot or cold. Given the time of year, I was always going to opt for a nice warming drink, but it’s nice to have the option there for when the mercury level begins to rise again.
Now, it’s important to read the label before making yourself a cup, because otherwise you’ll do something silly like me and waste a cup. You’re not meant to go in with boiling water – instead, add 12oz of warm water and stir. The ideal water temperature is 140°F-150°F.
Once I had eventually made it the right way, I actually found it much easier. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve made tea and then forgotten about it while waiting for it to cool down.

The key to whether this product got the thumbs up was always the taste. While I knew it would be good for me, if it just tasted like slightly funky water, then it would never be something I’d instinctively reach for in the mornings and evenings.
PIQUE’s matcha is a cult favorite thanks to its unique umami flavor (the taste of l-theanine) – boasting a delicately fresh and creamy rich punch – and delivering the quality and flavor of the most exquisite matcha used in Japanese tea ceremonies.
It certainly wasn’t the weak supermarket rubbish that I’m used to. It’s the perfect morning or afternoon pick-me-up for an unequaled antioxidant infusion for radiant skin, healthy metabolism, balanced mood, and calm energy.
Plus, it’s vegan, so my partner could enjoy it with me (which I was secretly pretty annoyed about as I wanted it all).
