Ronnie Coleman swaps the squat rack for the studio with surprise 14-track debut
Bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman hasn’t exactly turned into a pipe-and-slippers man since retiring from the stage.
The eight-time Mr. Olympia champion has filled his days with several major projects, ranging from the expected to more offbeat ventures.
Over the last few years, Ronnie has launched fitness apparel, accessories, an extensive Signature Series supplement line, the Yeah Buddy fitness app, and even appeared in the Ronnie Cop mobile game.
Yet all of those endeavors pale in comparison to his latest effort.
In what’s a strong contender for a “that wasn’t on my 2026 bingo card” moment, Ronnie just dropped his own music album.
Available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, Built Different marks The King’s debut on the airwaves — and one few fans saw coming.
It features 14 tracks inspired by classic Ronnie Coleman sayings and highlights from his illustrious career, including Yeah Buddy! Lightweight!, Good Old Chicken, From 3rd Callout to the Throne, Free Membership, and Mama Made Me.
And, as fans of a certain vintage will have spotted, 800 for 2 is a clever nod to his famous 800lb squat.
The full album is available to stream now, running around 50 minutes cover to cover. Only one track, Because I Love It, currently has its own music video, which we suppose makes it Ronnie Coleman’s debut single.
Some fans are already calling it Ronnie’s “Legacy Soundtrack,” and it certainly does provide solid pre-gym motivation.
It would be fair to say that launching an album isn’t a conventional step in a bodybuilder’s journey. But then again, when has Ronnie Coleman ever followed convention?
For anyone seeking a pump beyond the pre-workout, Built Different is a must-listen from one of the all-time greats.
