PRIME, the insanely popular drink from Logan Paul and KSI, has been back in the news lately after it was announced that the drinks were being recalled in Canada.
Why? Well, turns out the original PRIME canada energy formula contains more caffeine than is legally allowed. The rules there are that drinks can only contain up to 180mg of caffeine in a single-serving can, and PRIME exceeds that limit with 200mg in every 12 ounce can..
Health Canada has said that they’re aware that various stores in the country are selling the drink without approval, and they’re working with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to sort the issue out.
Now though word is out that there’s a new, updated PRIME available that complies with the legal limits. Prime Tracker on Twitter announced the launch of the 355ml cans which have 140mg of caffeine and are available in Ice Pop, Strawberry Watermelon, Lemon Lime, and Blue Raspberry flavors.
So next time you’re in the store and spot some PRIME energy, just check the label to make sure you’re buying the new version with the approved caffeine levels.
