Torri Huske has been a sensation on the big stages in swimming, and at the Paris 2024 Olympics now doubt. Here’s more on the American Olympic medalist.
Background
Victoria ‘Torri’ Huske is a competitive swimmer with medals and world records to her name. She was born on December 7, 2002, in Arlington, Virginia, and has been training for swimming since she was six years. She joined the Arlington Aquatic Club, where she was coached by Evan Tiles.
Swimming career
High School
Huske attended Yorktown High School, Arlington from 2017 – 2020, during which her school finished atop the Virginia State High School League (VHSL) Class 6 High School Swimming and Diving Championships once (in 2021) and second twice (2019 and 2020).
She won 15 VSHL Class 6 High School State Championships, eight coming individually and seven from relay events. Huske also set multiple state records in high school, including 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 200m medley, and 4×50 medley relay.
USA Swimming named Huske as a recipient of the Scholastic All-American honors four times in high school, and she joined the Yorktown High School Hall of Fame as the youngest member in 2022.

Olympics
Huske competed in her first-ever Olympics in 2021, winning a silver medal in the 400m medley relay event. She finished fourth in the 100m butterfly event that year, a race that ended up as the fastest butterfly heat in history. Four of the eight finalists got into the top 10 for females in the All-time records for butterfly events.
Paris 2024 has been a much improved success for Huske, as she has gone on to set two World Records for the fastest split in the 400m medley and 400m mixed medley events. She has racked up two personal medals (one gold, one silver) and helped the US team to three more from relay events (two gold, one silver).
Personal

Huske is about 21 years old, standing at 173cm (5 feet 8 inches), and she is an only child.
She also is one of just four American women with six medals at a World Championship, after winning three gold medals and three bronze medals at the FINA World Swimming Championships in 2022.
