Count Chocula Rises Again — This Time as a GHOST Protein Flavor
GHOST made a huge statement last year when it debuted in functional food with a duo of protein-packed cereal flavors.
Peanut Butter and Marshmallow led the charge in its breakfast takeover, launched in collaboration with food giant General Mills.
Leveraging the legacy brand’s ability to open doors, GHOST managed to place its better-for-you bowls in supermarkets across America almost overnight.
As one of the oldest and most trusted food companies, General Mills has several household brands under its umbrella. In fact, the group claims to have products in 90% of American pantries.
Big hitters include Cheerios, Cookie Crisp, Golden Grahams, Betty Crocker, and Cocoa Puffs.
With General Mills’ stacked roster and GHOST’s knack for authentic flavor crossovers, fans were expecting more from this partnership — and indeed, it delivered.
GHOST followed up with a Cinnamon Toast Crunch variety of its protein cereal, fusing childlike joy with adult macros.
Now, the legendary lifestyle brand has tapped into the General Mills network once again. But this time, the collaboration has expanded outside of breakfast.
Right on cue for Halloween, GHOST has announced a Count Chocula flavor of its Whey Protein blend. Here’s what you need to know.
What is Count Chocula?
GHOST has dialed the nostalgia up to 11 with this launch. Count Chocula, Franken Berry, and Boo Berry first hit the breakfast table in the early ’70s, inspired by classic horror films like Dracula and Frankenstein.
Over the years, the three cereals have become Halloween icons, returning annually to spread spooky spirit.

This is one of the biggest crossovers we’ve seen in recent times. Count Chocula has been crunched by generations of cereal lovers, and it’s now hitting the most popular category in sports nutrition.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that you can always Count (pun intended) on GHOST to surprise you.
The Macro Breakdown
The protein in GHOST Count Chocula comes from the same high-quality blend: whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, and hydrolyzed whey protein isolate.
That provides a balanced mix of complete proteins with all nine essential amino acids and varying absorption rates.
Here’s the breakdown per scoop:
- 25g protein
- 1.5g fat (0.5g saturated)
- 6g carbs
- 3g sugar (2g added)
- 140 calories
Considering it’s packed with Count Chocula Monster Marshmallows, the panel remains impressively clean.
GHOST is dropping this latest concoction on Wednesday, September 24 at 12pm CT. Sadly for European fans, it’s a US exclusive. Then again, most across the pond haven’t even tried the Count Chocula cereal.
Alongside the protein, GHOST’s SOTM Stainless Steel “Blackout” shaker will launch globally, joined by a Cranberry flavor of GHOST GREENS and Welch’s Grape-Cran GHOST BCAA.
